Here's how to reach us

We'd love to hear from you! However, we are a very small ministry and every member of our small staff serves in other full-time ministry positions. As a result, email is the only way to contact us. However, we check email frequently and will do our best to respond to you in a timely manner.

Who We Are

A little about ourselves...

Back near the turn of the century (1999, to be precise), TruthQuest Ministries was founded by a small group of children's ministry volunteers. The plan was to launch a children's worship service for our home church in Denver, Colorado. But at the time, it seemed like much of the Bible curriculum available went kind of light on the actual "Bible" part. So we wondered, what was the point of just entertaining kids? What purpose was served in bombarding them with coloring sheets and crafts if the accompanying Bible teaching was so shallow? That wasn't what we wanted. Instead, we wanted our ministry to dig deeper into the Word while still being fun, because we believed that kids were capable of learning more.

We began praying and asking questions. What if we could make children WANT to come to church? What if we could teach kids more than just the standard stories they've already heard? What if we could not only teach them WHAT the Bible says, but also HOW to apply it to their lives? What if we could train children to view the whole world through the eyes of Scripture? What if the whole ministry was like an adventure-filled quest for the Truth? A TruthQuest! Wouldn't that be cool?

And so we began brainstorming. And writing. And drawing. And on Easter Sunday of 1999, TruthQuest debuted to kids at a local church. It was a disaster. We learned that things didn't always go as we planned, and we learned a number of lessons about what NOT to do. Yet, despite the initial flaws in our work, somehow the kids loved it. They were clearly hungry for what we were trying to do. And so, we refined what we had done. We worked out the bugs. We tinkered. We tweaked. Who knew? If our stuff was any good, maybe other churches could even use it!

As the years went by, other churches DID begin using our materials. Some loved it. Others provided helpful feedback, and we continued to listen. Within a few years, through our experience and by God's grace, we had learned how to produce materials that were fun, flexible, and engaging; materials that were known by our customers for their Biblical depth--and that's exactly what we wanted to be known for.

Today, TruthQuest materials are in use by churches across the United States; churches who agree that kids need more in-depth Bible training. We're certainly not a big publisher with lots of resources, and we're not trying to be. Our tiny staff all serve in children's ministry positions, and our love for kids and our passion for raising them up in God's Truth is reflected in all that we do. Our resources are limited and our budget is tight, but that's okay, because we know that yours are too.

Because of all this, we do things differently than other Bible curriculum publishers. We keep things simple and inexpensive, because we understand what you go through in children's ministry. We do everything digitally and online so that we don't incur (or pass on to you) the costs of expensive packaging, warehousing and shipping. We believe that Bible curriculum is a collection of ideas--not the paper they're printed on or the packages in which they're delivered.

We're different. We're not for everyone, and that's okay with us. God is faithful, and we feel privileged to be able to do what we do. And if you're reading this, we also feel privileged to possibly have a small part in serving you as you serve the children whom God so dearly loves.

Our Mission

Why we do what we do

Let's face it. The world is a mess. And the only true solution is for the world to turn to God. Maybe we can't make that happen, but we CAN take part in raising up a Godly generation--and to do that, we have to start with the children.

Our mission is to love children as Jesus does; not ignoring them or dismissing them, but spending time and energy to love them and to train them up in the ways of God.

We desire to protect kids against the "hollow and deceptive philosophies" of this world (Colossians 2:8) by training them to think critically about man's fallable "wisdom," which bombards kids from all directions. Our materials often address the flaws in man's "wisdom," comparing it to the Truth and true Wisdom of God's Word. The result is children who understand that it's okay not to believe or agree with everything the world tells them, so long as they respect authority and obey the Greatest Commandment; to love God with all their hearts, and their neighbors as themselves.

We desire to help raise up and equip wise, Biblically-minded children who will be firmly grounded in the Word of God, not only knowing WHAT they believe, but WHY they believe it and understanding HOW to live it out each day.

We're not in the business of producing children's Bible curriculum because of a lack of options--there are plenty of Bible curriculum publishers out there, and they do fine work. Neither are we here only to make money (though we need revenue in order to survive) If these were our goals, we'd be going about it all the wrong way.

Simply put, we're here to teach what we believe. We're here to teach kids what God's Word really says, what it means, and how to apply it to their lives so that their lives may be changed for God's glory. We don't water-down our lessons to appeal to a broader audience. Do we make it fun? Definitely. Memorable? Without a doubt. But at the end of the day, it's all about impressing God's Word on our children (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). And for us, that's the whole point.

What We Believe

Our Doctrinal Statement

We Believe...
the Scriptures...
...both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:3 and 21)
in ONE God...
...Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Hey, we don't pretend to know how that all works out, but the Bible plainly shows this to be the case, and that's enough for us! (Genesis 1, Matthew 5:48 and 3:13-17, Deuteronomy 32:6)
that Jesus Christ is true God and true man...
...having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Luke 19:44, 23:46, 24:36, Matthew 1:18, Romans 3:25, Acts 1:9, Mark 16:19, Hebrews 4:14)
the Holy Spirit...
That the Ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Romans 8:16-17, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
that man was created in the image of God...
...but fell into sin and is therefore, lost, sinful by nature, and able only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit to obtain salvation and spiritual life. (Genesis 1:27 Romans 5:12 and 18, John 3:16)
Jesus is the ONLY Way...
That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus become children of God. (Ephesians 1:7, John 11:25, Romans 8:30)
baptism...
That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 11:26)
the true church...
That the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. (Colossians 1:18)
the return of Jesus...
In the personal premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
the resurrection...
In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (Revelation 20:11-15)

Our Position

What We Believe About Other Issues

We Also Believe...
Six Days. Really.
We believe in a literal six 24-hour day creation of an adult heavens and earth by God Almighty. 144 Hours. And why not? We believe that God is all-powerful. God is not limited by the laws of physics and nature, which He Himself authored. The way we see it, there is no reason whatsoever to doubt that God did, in fact, create the heavens and the earth, in their mature forms, exactly as described in Genesis. Sweet!
Dinosaurs are Cool!
Dinosaurs are merely animals, and they were created along with all of the other animals on the fifth and sixth days of creation. What's that you say? Dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible? Neither are giraffes. Actually, the word "dinosaur" did not exist when the Bible was written, so these creatures may be referred to in the Scriptures as "dragons" or as the "behemoth" or the "leviathan." So, love on those dinosaurs, and love on God's Word! It's all good!
Darwin Was Wrong.
We're sure he was a nice guy, but this whole "evolving from a common ancestor as apes" thing is kinda weird. Here's the deal. If you do science correctly, you honestly can't call Darwinism a fact. It requires FAITH, just like Creationism does. And since Darwinism and the Bible kinda teach exactly opposite things, we're gonna go with the Bible on this one. So, if you believe in Darwinism, we can still be friends. We just don't think you'll like our curriculum. Fair enough?
Bible Versions are Okay.
We provide most of our materials in multiple Bible versions, including NIV, KJV, ESV, and HCSB. We believe that these are all good, though imperfect, translations of the Bible. We believe the best of these versions is the one your kids will actually read. For our KJV-loving friends, we're happy to include KJV versions of most of our materials. Just don't hate on us for supporting the NIV, ESV, or HCSB too, okay?
Let's Not Argue About Music.
People are passionate about music! But sometimes, folks passionately tell us our music is "too rocky." Other people forcefully tell us that the VERY SAME music is not "rocky" enough! Here's the thing. We can't make everyone happy. So instead of going to musical extremes which alienate people, we concentrate on writing good lyrics and messages in our songs, and putting together music that we think best fits that. Plenty of folks love our music, but if it's not your cup of tea, we hope you'll remember one thing. Worship is a CHOICE, regardless of how you feel about the music that's playing. We hope you'll like our music, but if you don't, we hope you'll worship anyway.
We Don't Know When...
Some of our lessons deal with the return of Christ, which is cool. But, will it be "pre-trib," "mid-trib," or "post-trib?" One could argue that there's Scripture to support all three of those positions, but we think that's missing the point. We don't know when Christ will return. We only know that He WILL. So, we don't get into that whole can of worms. Instead, we get to the heart of the issue, which is that we should live for Christ every day. If we do that, we'll be ready when Christ returns--WHENEVER that will be.
Don't Agree?
That's okay. We're not saying that anyone's going to hell for thinking differently on these six points above, we're just telling you what we believe, because it informs what we teach in our materials.
